Many families, individuals and companies come to our worldwide
headquarters in New York City and tell us they want to start
their own charitable organization.
We first inform them of the commitment it takes to move forward
with this dream and we then ask them if they have contemplated
getting involved in a volunteer or donor role with an existing
charitable organization that has a cause similar to the one
they plan to start. Many of them have not considered such alternatives
and we help connect them to such opportunities. However, a portion
of this group of people are only interested in starting their
own charitable organization and will not consider any other
option.
