Case Study: Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation

2019 MDS Awareness Walks

The Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation (MDS Foundation) was established by an international group of physicians and researchers to provide an ongoing exchange of information relating to MDS. PBP was excited to work with the MDS Foundation this year to build out their development strategy, assist with their year-end appeal, and produce 2 awareness walk events.

The MDS Foundation held their first Run/Walk in Chicago this June which raised over $100,000 as a first-year event.  The MDS Foundation also held their Second Annual Walk in Boston, which raised over $165,000, doubling their fundraising total from the previous year. Thanks to the Massachusetts General Hospital Blood Donor Center, people were also able to donate blood at the event. The events saw a combined total of over 650 participants, which will be increasing in 2020 when the MDS Foundation expands their run/walk series to New York and Nashville!
